Oscar Wilde in his essay, The Soul of Man Under Socialism, said: ‘A map of the world that does not include Utopia is not worth even glancing at, for it leaves out the one country at which Humanity is always landing. And when Humanity lands there, it looks out, and, seeing a better country, sets sail. Progress is the realisation of Utopias.’

This blog is about changing the world for the better. I know many say they want to do this, but often simply want to impose their own views. This blog is an attempt to stimulate debate and an exchange of ideas, based on tolerance, respect and genuine curiosity. The world can only be changed for the better if each one of us firstly becomes a better person. We don't have to accept the present system in all its manifestations; it is still largely a world made for the rich, the greedy and intolerant. I believe, like Oscar Wilde, that a map without utopia on it is a useless map. Without hope, there is no worthwhile future.
